This GenXer grew up watching classic TV shows on indy channels and I quite agree. So many amazingly attractive women from the 1940s through the 1960s. Hell, there were some cuties on TV in the 1980s such as Stephanie Zimbalist.

So true. I always saw Ball as a great comedienne...never really ‘looked’ at her beyond that. Then I saw an early promo/publicity still somewhere. My God that woman was gorgeous...then again I always had a thing for Redheads, so I’m biased ;)

That reminds me, I need to purchase two pickets to Tittsburgh......uh I mean two tickets to Pittsburgh.

"I see that Natalie Wood is on your list. I quite agree; she was an extraordinary beauty."
Another vote for Natalie Wood. Her bubbly, perky personality just added to her considerable beauty.

Can’t think of her name right now, but the girl from “Valley Girl” was another.
Trivia - the ‘pneumatic’ blond in that movie (another hottie) went on to do cartoon voices on Rugrats and others and is an accomplished guitarist.
To: TexasNative2000
Heck, she was hot even in cartoon form

That and those dark, sultry eyes. Egad, those hauntingly beautiful eyes.

Lucille Ball was also in an early Three Stooges short back in the 30s.

I bet you are correct.
There is NOTHING special about her.
She is easily substituted for some other female in ALL her movies. There is not “hers” role. (other than the utterly dislikable character from her friends days)

According to IMDB, the female lead was Deborah Foreman, and the girl with the bosoms was Elizabeth Daily. It’s funny that Nicholas Cage was the breakout star from that. I was the target audience, high-school junior in 1983, and I didn’t think he was cute at all. Still don’t.

She needs to become a poor struggling actress again. She looked much better in her pre-anorexia days.

I love these threads.
Every time one is posted, all the old farts come in and tell us how some silent movie chick was the hottest ever.
The antique black-n-white photos are always sure to follow.

She was never a poor, struggling actress. She’s part of a Hollywood dynasty.
