A group of my fellow (female) teachers have enthusiastically signed this petition and chosen to donate to this "cause". They approached me about donating, and I said that I would consider it. After extensive research on this topic, I found that this is a moot point anyhow as the Ugandan government is complicit in Joseph Kony's recruiting of children for his militia movement. I politely informed one of the "stable" teachers that this move, while noble in its motive, would ultimately be a moot point. Her response was less than "friendly", so to speak. (I only mention they are women because of the propensity of women (in general) to be swayed by emotionally stirring "documentaries" as such, and the fact that none of the male teachers approached chose to donate)
I guess that emotion-driven "movements" like this seem to ease liberal "white guilt" to some degree...
I am surrounded by mind-numbed robots...

My youngest girl....who's a college student, text me the other day..thanking me for teaching her to be a critical thinker. I asked her what brought that on?
She proceeded to tell me one of her professors had them watch that Kony 2012 vid. She said she watched it...but started asking questions about it, looked some things up, and lo and behold, it wasn't on the up and up.
She also said...lot's of her fellow students were totally sucked in. Ha!! She's a smart kid. Has a BA in "legal studies"....she ought to be a lawyer, but doesn't want to do that. HA!!!
