Yes. One of the Braca clan before Hannibal. Great stuff. The Sword of Carthage is the name of the book. He didn't get everything right, but to be honest he got it closer than most. Deals with the Punic wars and the invasion of Sicily. I honestly like his historical fiction more than his sci fi. I have heard good things about The Great Pagan Army, but haven't read it yet.
