>> I’ve said all along that I can list a hundred reasons why Newt would be a better president, but that I can live with Rick. He’s a decent man and has for the most part, unlike Myth, run an honorable campaign.
On that, we agree completely.
>> I think it’s pretty near time for us Newt peole... to rally behind the only candidate who appears able to defeat BO Light....The only path to doing that now is via Rick Santorum.
On that we do not agree. In *any* election I vote my principles: I thoughtfully consider the candidates and choose the *best* one available for the long term success of this great country. I don’t do dumb stuff like “write in” candidates who aren’t running — but neither do I “vote the herd” or “game the election” by voting against my principles because someone claims “so and so can win”.
Sorry. I have my conscience to answer to. You do what you will. Newt is a *better choice for this country* than Rick Santorum, and unless Newt drops out before the Texas primary I plan to vote for him.
If Newt drops out before Texas and Santorum is still in, I’ll vote for him then, because he will be the best choice against Romney.
Of course should Santorum get the nomination, I’ll vote for him in the general. Not with a lot of enthusiasm, but not holding my nose, either. After all, he’s a damn site better than McCain, and I voted for that loser too.
FRegards
Santorum will NOT get the nomination. Before this process can reach the convention, Santorum, being a weak, but loyal, party politician, will have buckled under the pressure and bribes from the GOP-e and agreed to buyout terms that hand his delegates to Romney and the primary process will end.
