It really is no different than the days of the Soviet Union and THEIR domestic press (TASS, Pravda, Izvestiya, Soviet Life, Radio Moscow), covering up facts and being a cheerleader for the Government (well, part of the Government). The US clearly has a Government-Media complex.
They way Soledad Obrien just about had a cow on national live TV on CNN in defense of Obama when very uncomfortable things came up about his past, really showed those peoples' agenda. It is a wonder that it even got aired. Another four years and I doubt we will even have anywhere near the freedom of the press that we have today.
