If folks would put their emotions aside and really look at the situation as it is they’d realize that Newt is just splitting the conbseravtive vote...to no useful purpose. If he’d drop out and endorse Santorum we’d have a chance of beating Romney with a guy who could conceivably win in November. If mitt wins in AL and MS it’s just about a done deal....we’re stuck with mitt and another 4 years of obama.
Santorum should drop out and endorse Newt. He is the best conservative in the race... and Newt has more delegates.
Yuh damn right Newt’s splitting the vote. He and Santorum don’t give Mitt the ability to focus on any one target.
The only way Mitt prevails is when he pulls out his American Express Black Card and outspends his opponents 6 to 1.
And just what do his ads say? Not a damn thing about his plans.
Just a bunch of negative ads saying Rick or Newt is bad, very bad.
Mitt’s only strategy is attrition. His product sucks and is so complicated he had to write it down on 59 pages and use high minded language to, I guess, confuse everyone.
This race is a long way from being over. Rick’s delegates are not commited delegates so they don’t really count as they can vote for whoever at the convention.
Mitt’s vote total is in jeopardy in Florida and one other state. Newt will challenge them and prevail. They changed the rules in the middle of the game. Not gonna fly.
None of these guys is going to gain 1144 committed votes. The pie just doesn’t get slice that way as there isn’t enough pie left for anyone to get there.
Emotions are coming from the Rick side - they are dreamers about a candidate wet behind the ears and a GOP E ‘take one for the team’ candidate.
NEWT is THE PATRIOT, Knowledgeable and EXPERIENCED. It’s not even a contest - except for voters who run on emotions and not facts!

Maybe not useful to you, but it seems that Las Vegas gazillionaire Sheldon Adelson now is funding Newt precisely with the goal of splitting the anti-Romney vote, thereby denying the nomination to Santorum. So Newt is “useful” to at least one big player.
(Adelson, as a gambling king-pin, clearly doesn’t want the morally strict Santo as POTUS.)
Newt may or may not share Adelson’s preference for Romney over Santorum. But even if Newt is staying in the race strictly for reasons of ego and increased future book sales, without regard to his presidential preference, the effect is the same: At this stage, support for Newt = support for Romney.
