Seriously, I don’t know if it is my computer or my mouse. I’ve never experienced this quirk. I try and highlight and delete, it jumps all over and denies me or rearranges.

I've dealt with this. It's probably one of a couple of possibilities: 1) You are using a cordless mouse and your batteries are running low, 2) You are using an optical mouse (the kind with the red light on the bottom instead of a ball) on a high-gloss, reflective surface, or 3) both 1 & 2.

If it's #1, replace batteries. If #2, try putting a mousepad under your mouse, or some other non-reflective surface, preferably black. Table tops should do, as long as they are not too shiny.

Good luck.

I have one and two and I have cleaned the red light area, scrubbed my desk to squeak. I have replaced the batteries a few times. I am going to buy a new mouse, it must be that.

Even trying to use my search engine (start page) and change stuff in the search-box, takes more than an act of congress! I can also end up with word soup.

Even trying to mess with MS Word and Paint Shop Pro is enough to have one locked up.

I hope it is the mouse. I have paid AVAST and Malwarebytes. It is the craziest ‘puter experience I’ve ever had.

Maddening for someone who sucks at grammar in the first place! :p
