The federal government will stop funding a Texas health program that serves 130,000 low-income women because of a state law that bars abortion-affiliated clinics from getting public money, a top U.S. health official said Friday.
The federal money, which covers 90 percent of the state's $40 million program, will be phased out between May and September because the law violates federal regulations requiring that women have a choice in medical care, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during a trip to Houston.

This entire admin is insane
Their way or the highway.. people be damned. Typical of these hateful jerks.
Deduct the $40 million from the money Texas sends to the Feds.
This is how the Democrats care about poor women. Texas should use some of its fat revenue checks from the latest spike in oil prices to fund medical care for the indigent, both men and women. Hopefully, they would do a better job than the money-grubbing baby-murderers at Planned Parenthood.
So many businesses are moving to Texas, Governor Perry should tell
The Feds to screw themselves his tax revenue should cover this with no
problem and they are free from these Marxists!!!”
I am taking care of an elderly parent in the socialist state of CA. when
my parent is no longer with me, I AM MOVING TO TEXAS so fast, I do
not think I will stop to sleep along the way!!!!
“Deduct the $40 million from the money Texas sends to the Feds.”
And when the Feds whine that they are going to punish Texas for using that $40,000,000 for poor Texans, Texans ought to fly that good old “Come and Take It!” flag from its fight for independence. There are FAR more guns in Texas than the federal government has, and no one has to teach millions of Texans how to shoot.
But we wouldn’t have to go that far. Texas could just shut down every oil and gas pipeline that leaves our state. Talk about gas prices!
The title and first part of the article is sooo misleading.
The fed gives the money to the STATE. The state spends the money as they see fit. Not the way Sebellius and Obama see fit.
So they will stop giving the state that money. Because Texas doesn’t want abortions done through planned parenthood...
Good. Now shut down all those clinics, and stop funding the fed.
By George, you got the right idea!
If they can’t get freebies, maybe they will go to some cesspool state that furnishes them.
Texas is still one of the productive states and that's why Obama hates us.
Write or better yet call your Governor and Lt Governor and applaud their stand.
Our allegiance is to the Constitution and not some two bit Marxist dictator.
NO, the problem is the Fed decided to punish Texas for cutting off the funding of Planned Parenthood (Abortionists). What the Legislature did is legal. What the Fed did is not.

Something! The feds take Texas tax dollars then hold back funding to Texas for women’s health care— BUT use Texas tax dollars to fund UNFPA for womens health care around the world—health care that sometimes is used in FORCED abortions.

Texas can use more people like you here.
Yes, and Obozo declared war on all Christians, Jews and some other faiths.
In open defiance of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which he took an oath to “protect and defend”.
This is not going away. The Christians and hopefully the Jews will crawl over broken glass to unseat this lying dictator want to be.
What exactly does this $40,000,000 “program” really offer those 130,000 women in Texas at the bargain price of $307 each?
It sounds like it might be just another NGO referral agency.
Are the cancer screenings merely a pamphlet on self performed breast exams?
Is family planning a brochure explaining various methods of contraceptives, and a list of local OB/GYNs ?
What, exactly, is included in “other women's health services”?
Are they merely copied lists of social service agency and health clinics contact information?
