Wrong. A chemical brain imbalance is not ‘solvable’. It is no different than taking Synthroid for a thyroid problem. You are replacing what your body doesn't make.
Not necessarily. It can help someone get through a temporary issue (divorce, grief, etc.). It also depends on what you mean by the "problem". E.g., If it's not being able to hold a job, meds can amend that.
You could also say that antibiotics only “suppress” an infection and do not “solve” it — but they put the body in a position of better advantage to cope. The idea of a medicine as a fix rather than as a bandage to a wounded mind so that it can heal through slower means is being presented and then bashed as a straw man here.
