Having been in the marketing/advertising business for many years what Rush is saying is spot on. The media is falling all over themselves to create a story where none exists. Seriously, an advertiser will go where the money/audience is.
That being said I would triple the rate of those who temporarily pulled off the program...

Rush has a variety of options in deciding to let the former advertisers back. He has explained that he has turned down millions of dollars in advertising because some companies were not a fit for his audience. He made the selections, and company execs should be glad that they made the cut. I hope he makes it clear to them that he had enough faith in them and their product to give them access to his audience, and that they thanked him by slapping him and his audience in the face. And by the way, this caused a lot of anxiety in to his listeners, and THAT was not at all justified!

By letting them back though, if they continue to prosper while other former advertisers wither and disappear, it would be a much more powerful message.

“Seriously, an advertiser will go where the money/audience is.”
One of the interesting things to me, through all of this broo ha ha, was to find out the strong connections some of Rush’s advertisers have with liberal causes. They want to advertise on Rush’s show because they know that’s who people are listening to. No one listens to liberal talk radio. Now that I know about their liberal leanings I will boycott them for that, even if they do come back. But I hope Rush tells them to take a hike.
