For such a smart guy he sure gets a minimal amount of votes. Any theories on that?

At some point even the most ardent Newt supporters are going to have to come to terms with the fact that the nominee will either be Romney or Santorum. Whether that's sooner or later for you is up to you.

Who has been attacked with the vast majority of cash driven negative ads, but still able to stay in the race against the wishes of the all powerful establishment?

What does that tell you about Newt’s ability to get votes?

In a race this tough there are a few things Newt could have done better.

Sunday is perfect example.

Newt had to fae DNC Dave on meet the depressed/nbc on Sunday.

DNC dave started in on the BS/made up topic of contraception. At first Newt didn't want to discuss it and started in on other more important topics.

But then he caved and gave into DNC Dave. Big mistake IMHO. IF he had stood his ground with the driveby and focused instead on energy, the debt, deficit, no budget in 1,000 days, which Newt could have done easily,he could have made big new by dissing DNC Dave, but he didn't.

IMHO, this is the difference between winning and possibly not.

There's no need for theories. Newt was destroyed in the late 90s by the Left and the establishment Right. In the campaign he's been written off three times already and is coming back for more in spite of tens of millions in negative ads run in every state from Iowa to Ohio.

Sooner or later Santorum supporters are going to have to come to terms with the fact their candidate is electoral poison. If we're very fortunate it will happen before Nov 6th. I believe the electorate is effectively suicidal.

(Santorum's now lying about his history with health care mandates. Shameless. HA! Just said he's "Truthful with the American Public.")

Newt continues to bounce back because he's the smart guy with big ideas and the electorate is clearly not enthralled with the establishment's bobbsey twins Mitt and Rick.
