Ummm....

1. The trend is towards online broadcasting anyway. Because the talk demographic is older who show higher resistance to podCasting, et al, for now the real money is on the airwaves. The future might not be Alex Jones, per se, but his netCentric format is certainly the future. So Rush scaling back on AM might not be super bad.

2. Rush has been poor before —he has seen it all. He also has lots of savings and Two if By Tea. He will definately survive, and this actually might prove good, since it might shove him over to the virtual side more now. This isn’t good, but...it’s not a disaster for him, although for those Republican idiots it probably will be.

3. His fan base is fanatically devoted. They will follow him anywhere. I think Rush should get into non-network video production more. Studios are cheaper, and cameras that were once $50,000 are now $2,500 —just look at Act of Valor, a #1 film shot with cameras carried by upper-income everyday tourists. What has happened to computers has also been occuring to cameras and video-editing. Alex Jones shoots using interns and a studio in a business park —it looks great and is distributed via YouTue. A budget for a really great studio could easily be less than $30k. He could be making something like his old show, but on a shorter format —2.5 minute vids, maybe every other day, viewable by commuters on their iPhone and droids. FreddieW, a 25 y.o. YouTuber who never went to film school, gets 7 million hits weekly on his ~ 2 minute fx videos.

4. Rush needs to write another book. It will be an instant best-seller and could come in time for the impending election. All his fans will buy it. The libs will crap their pants.

I am 73 and I listen to net casts exclusively. When on the road there are apps for most of them.
