I dumped TW over a year ago. HawaiianTel (local phone company) started TV and internet service. Far, far superior to TW with many more channels and better video quality.

I’m dumping ProFlowers. The only one of Rush’s sponsors I utilized. They’ll never get another dime from me.

HBO is owned by Time Warner. Time Warner Cable is a completely separate entity. I found that out when I was trying to use the HBO iPhone app—TWC didn’t have an agreement with HBO yet.

Still, canceling HBO is an option.

TW is my only choice here. And I would not cancel in any case until the second season of Game of Thrones is over.

Did long ago. Keep getting mail that goes in the trash. They’re wasting their money on me. Good!

Thanks for the reminder. I despise Time-Warner, and I'm a consumer (though I don't subscribe to HBO, and wouldn't - though I'm not above buying or renting The Sopranos separately, and long after it's been aired.

Does anyone know what the actual status is of their relationship with AOL? Their incredibly high rates have led me to believe that their still paying down on that $100 billion mix up with AOL a decade ago. Even if they are no longer married on paper, that stock deal still went down, so somebody's out $100 billion.

Since companies don't pay taxes or increased costs (passing them along to their customers), then those of us under the Time Warner monopoly are very likely still paying off that stupid deal.

I can't remember ever hearing an AOL advertisement on Rush, not since August 1988 when I first started listening.

I tried the Time Warner broadband ("faster than DSL") unless, of course, there are multiple users on your branch. I dropped them after sporadic drop outs. AT&T's broadband is screaming, here, and never drops out. Not taking Time Warner's broadband really chaps them.

Anyway, thanks for reminding me about HBO's relationship with Time Warner. That's all the excuse I needed to look at U-verse, or Direct TV, even if they donate money to Logo, or Current TV.

I can do without, if it comes to that. All of these Pay TV deals are way to expensive for Bread and Circuses.

I've been re-reading Kipling, and loving it!
