NEW YORK (NNPA) - “The fire department killed Jamel Sears!” charged John Coombs, president of the Vulcan society, a nationwide organization of Black firefighters...All of a sudden, this excessive training was instituted in this most diverse class.”

The widow of a probationary firefighter has filed a $10 million wrongful death suit against the city and the FDNY, alleging racial targeting.

Sharita Sears, wife of the late Jamel Sears, believes that her deceased husband was forced to perform brutal training exercises that killed him. Jamel Sears collapsed in November of last year during an 18-minute training exercise at the fire academy.

The claim also charges that the FDNY instructor in charge of the training ordered trainees not to assist Sears when he collapsed on Randall’s Island. It took ambulances 15 minutes to reach him.

According to a source close to the case, Sears had been made to lug 18 pounds of equipment and repeat the strenuous training every day for two weeks. Coombs, of Engine 250 in Flatbush, continued, “In light of the Justice Department investigation of the fire department, you’d think they would be conscious of how they behave and act. But that is not the case because we believe that this excessive training endured by Jamel and others was unnecessary.

“I took the FST 11 years ago, but we weren’t timed. All of a sudden, they’re timed. We aren’t timed at fires.”

Probably because the black society giving the prep sessions has both the questions and the answers to the upcoming test and was worried whitey might tell.

A lot of these tests are relatively simple with a few hours of studying, innate intelligence, and/or common sense. Of course, our government wants to fill these positions with the least competent applicants in order to pursue a race driven agenda.

“What would Martin Luther King do?” one agitated applicant asked.

Steeped in “fairess” all of his scholastic life he runs smack into bigotry against his race that has been pimped up as good. This WILL get nasty.

“White Applicants Blast FDNY After Being Denied Entry To Preparation Class”

No doubt the Dept. of Injustice under Att. Gen. Eric Joker will be all over this.

I watched a bit of a C-SPAN interview last night with Randall Kennedy, whose main concern is with racial issues. He comes across as soft-spoken and thoughtful but it was hard to see much difference between what he was saying and what someone like Al Sharpton says in an angrier way. Kennedy supprts affirmative action as a form of reparations, for example. Pretty much standard left-wing ideology, even if he has sometimes been attacked by more hard-line leftists.

A caller asked if black people could be guilty of racism and he said yes, listing some examples (all of them against other "protected groups"--no hint that he thought that a black person could be guilty of racism against a white person).

Why did the “agitated applicant” think Martin Luther King, Jr., would have been on his side? Because of one sentence in the “I Have a Dream” speech? That’s like assuming Thomas Jefferson would have supported the Abolitionists because he wrote “All men are created equal.” Has anyone ever examined MLK’s statements between August 1963 and April 1968 to see what his attitude was to early efforts at affirmative action?
