I don’t have much of a problem with a modest increase in Tricare prices. After my husband retired, we paid $460/year, which is almost nothing when compared to comparable civilian policies. Now we get Tricare “free”, and I really wouldn’t mind having to pay modestly for the benefit. I do think that the junior enlisted should have their Tricare fully subsidized; heaven knows, they don’t earn much as it is.
I don’t mind paying a bit more, but from what I’ve read, I’m looking at paying $2000 in a year or two. And I wouldn’t mind that, except my retirement pay after taxes has gone down in the 4 years since I retired, and it looks like I’ll soon be paying for birth control pills for sluts at expensive law schools...
