Well, we’ll just disagree on this one. After listening to Matthew Dowd on ABC, I’d say Rush’s comments are a huge factor in this election, in that they are an example of the great divide in this country and within the Repub. party.

Dowd on ABC described how much Repubs in DC do not like Rush, make fun of him, etc. Their view of Rush is no different than their view of conservatives in general. It was quite the interesting little window into establishment Repubs.

If this is truly the most important election of our lifetime, then we need to pull it together and fast.

We don’t need to obsess over and debate repeatedly every shiny object the liberals throw into the room to distract from the real issues: obamacare, the economy and national defense.

Oh I know the Blue Blood GOP hates Rush Limbaugh and they poke fun of him all the time. He is a real thorn in their side.

But like I said in my comment upthread, I think Rush’s apology to that slut Fluke was done specifically FOR the Blue Bloods. I think they know this matter is not resonating with the American people and they told Rush to please apologize so the crazies can’t make HIS comments the answer.

I’m not sure Rush really believes this but I’m thinking he figures he’ll acquiesce once and see if they take the ball and run with it.

Next week I am sure we’ll see Boehner and McConnell on all the news programs railing about Americans paying for birth control while diabetics struggle to pay a quarterly $1200 co-pay for insulin.

My priest gave a great sermon about this thing this morning...more later.

Santorum on FOX news Sunday - Wallace asks don’t you have to win in (Ohio? missed which state he referred to)? Santorum says we have a great grass roots campaign. Harder when you have two conservatives running. Says we need to show we are the best candidate going forward.

Wallace asks shoud Newt drop out - Santorum - it’s up to Newt. If we combined votes (gingrich and Santoru m) we’d beat Romney, we’ll see how things go in the future.

Wallace asks about filing problems (ohio delegates, VA). Romeny says Santorum flunked on not making sure this basic step occurred. Response, we’re doing pretty well given our resources.

Asked about Rush’s comments/Blunt amendment - do you really want to campain on contraception? Santorum responds this is about a moral exception (a conscience clause exception) for any part of this health care law. This used to be accepted as normal. Govt should NOT be forcing Americans to do things that goes against their conscience.

Wallace brings up comment that Santorum said he thinks contracpetion are wrong.( my comment - he never said that) Brings up 99% of women in this country use artificial BC at some point. Are you saying that all these women have done something wrong? (WOW) Santorum said this is about the govt forcing others to change their positions.

Asks about charitable contributions. Santorum only gave 1.7% why so cheap compared to obama and Romney? Santorum responds his family spends a lot of money on his children, especially his daughter Bella. Insurance does not cover a lot of costs for taking care of Bella. Wallace keeps pushing this 2% - why you so Cheap, Rick? Again Santorum said he was dedicating his resources to taking care of people in his own family. (That was low to keep pushing that point, IMO.)

Now Wallace asks about the SNOB comment and that obama never said what Santorum claimed. Shows 2006 campaign where he supported making federal loans more accessable for college.

Wallace asks about “took one for the team” comment (no child left behind). Santorum says things he didn’t like then (the spending) proved to be a huge problem after it was enacted. Wallace shows 2006 campain where he touted NCLB vote.

Wallace asks about economic plan - non partisan committe on blah, blah, blah said it would add 4T to defecit (did I hear that right?). Santorum responds their analysis is static. Doesn’t see any growth if you cut regulations, etc.
