He apologized only for his ‘choice of words’. A very narrow, carefully worded apology. Read it - he doubled down on Obama for getting involved, too.
He used precisely the word choice that every Democrat caught in the same sort of issue uses. His “apology” is an exercise in satire.
I hope Monday will produce a long string of ‘rat “choice of words” apologies, and the statement that produced them. He has an opportunity to use one of Breitbart’s “rope a dope” moves here.

That's what I thought, too. Even posted it on the other muuuuch longer thread. Rush has a special way with words. I'll wait 'til Monday to hear what he has to say.
