Agree.
One would think that, with the passage of time, Rush will recover financially and career-wise. Although he has been the target of the Left for many years, he did recover from the McNabb affair.
On the subject of double standards I brought up in this thread, I should have mentioned that the Left deserves scorn for ignoring or encouraging similar remarks from Letterman, Maher, Ed Schultz, etc. and suddenly becoming indignant at Rush's remarks. But again, when posters on FR say Rush is wrong to apologize, but (rightly) state that left wing swine like Maher are despicable for what they say about Palin, we should remember Deuteronomy 25:
Do not have two differing measures in your houseone large, one small. Do not have two differing weights in your bagone heavy, one light. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Actually when looking for comparisons to this, only Maher is applicable. Letterman apologized on air. Maher’s regular act is person attacks on Republican public figures and he is never sorry about it, that is his whole show. But Maher was kicked off of ABC for such antics. And HBO is a paid subscription services with NO sponsors that supplies liberal programming.
In this battle between Rush and the Dems the Dems were able to make her out to be a private citizen who is civil minded enough to voice her concerns on women's health issues, and that Rush savagely attacked her with (assumed) personal accusations to 'silence' her. If that is the premise then he cant win.
As I been posting the Democrats have been waging full scale war, but in this rare case Rush (accidently) put himself in the middle of the kill zone and now he knows what it feels like.
