I worked for many years in the radio advertising business, before I could no longer take it because of how vulture like it is. That being said I have maintained many friends, some of which are in high places. I think many people here myself included and Rush probably himself overestimated his own staying power.

I talked to some of my friends about it yesterday, and they all told me the same thing, that Rush was in significant trouble as of the afternoon yesterday. Advertisers were contacting Premiere Radio Networks in droves telling them that although highly rated they don’t need the trouble and will pull out of the show if he does not apologize by Monday.

My friends who didn’t think he would apologize thought his show would be cancelled by the end of the month. So although I don’t like it I trust them and their opinion immensely so I’m glad Rush did it, so there would be no problems in keeping him on the air.

Interesting insight.

Frankly, I think it’s irrelevant. Fluke is an internet meme now. She’s outted to the whole world as a slut, no matter what Rush says. Hope she’s proud!

As far as I’m concerned he probably lost 10% of his listening audience. I always felt that he would lead us into the attack. I should’ve taken him at his word that he is simply an entertainer.

“My friends who didn’t think he would apologize thought his show would be cancelled by the end of the month.”

A - Rush has ample money regardless.

B - If cancelled under his current contract, I suspect he could very easily rebuild a new EIB - and fast.

C - I’m very disappointed in Rush.

You are spot on. It is all about the advertisers. I’m sure that the left had a well engineered phone/email campaign directed at the advertisers demanding that they pull their $$$.

We need to push back the same way. It’s all about the $$$$ folks. The most tender spot is always the wallet. For info, follow the money. For action, threaten the money. For more action, promise the money. It never changes.

Hit where it makes a dent.

"My friends who didn’t think he would apologize thought his show would be cancelled by the end of the month. "

"cancelled" meaning dropped from that station....to be picked up by the competing station the next day.

Yes this distracted from 1) the sad state of affairs in which Fluke believes she's entitled to free contraception, which is probably why he apologized, and 2) more on the credentials of this woman. It's sounding like she's an embedded 30 yr. old activist....in other words, a fraud. I want more attention paid there.
