That's why Sheriff Arpaio is the perfect guy to put it forward. He has name recognition, he has protection from the Arizona electorate, public, and state government who know him and know what he's worth (he has cred statewide), and the wider public know who he is because of his kind of policing and because of the stink the LSM have made trying to help Raul Grijalva and other traitors chase Arpaio out of office.
So if Arpaio steps up, he serves as a low-cost (to conservative big-time commentariat aforementioned) sacrificial anode, an ablative shield against both LSM wrath and evil and also against 'Rat Machine deadfall traps and punji stakes that Obama and his Persons of Hench have carefully arranged around his sensitive liabilities (his essential fraudulence, IOW).
Obama engaged in some early baiting of Limbaugh three years ago with this subject. Rush sensed the traps' presence and stayed away, and FReepers commented on that at the time, and Michael Medved commented on it on his show, while explaining why he was literally screaming at people who called in and tried to bring up the BC issue on his own show.
It may well become the biggest scandal ever; when the truth comes out. Then there will be a rush to say they thought something wasn’t quite right.
It will make the Credit Mobilier, Teapot Dome, the XYZ Affair, and even Watergate all look like schoolyard hijinks by comparison.
The only scandals that could possibly overshadow it are Bill Clinton's treason and rapery, and the TARP robbery by threat committed by the Fed and Treasury pro bono their coconspirator bankers.
Even the Shirley Sherrod caper and the Dodd-Frank Mortgage-Fraud Scheme will not stink as harshly in the People's nostrils as Obama's and Clinton's sliming of the Presidency.
That's why people don't want to believe this stuff and tend to distrust and turn on persons and groups that try to wise them up to the defalcations of previously-trusted and well-liked officials. That's "transference". Accuse Mrs. McGillicuddy, the sweet church organist, of gossip and calumny, and people will judge the accuser, baselessly and in the face of evidence, of calumny himself.

As in, “The Brotherhood of the Bell”, for progress to be made, there must be another second corroborating independent exposure team (2 “Sheriffs” i.e law sanctioned body) to sway the tide.
Preferably another second totally independent “Sheriff” (sanctioning law enforcement body)with findings. Followed by 2-3-4-5- etc., For it is in the power of 2, then 3, then 4....
