It will be interesting to see who picks-up advertising.

What I can't believe is all these sponsors actually suspending their advertisements in a prime spot. And I do think that is key word in all these statements.

They use the word "suspend," which to me means temporary. We say the pulling their advertising dollars and that means something else entirely different.

Now knowing that the guy from Media Matters is behind this orchestrated attack on EIB should have all people very concerned. Media Matters is a 501 c3 and using our tax dollars to browbeat conservative talkshows into submission. They did it to Beck and now they have found a soft-spot for Limbaugh. Who was the other guy, the first one that got booted off the air? Called a woman a hoe?

All of this media stir has been trumped up to these unbelievable levels by propaganda. Rush is very used to stirring the media pot, but the level this has reached is utter lunacy. The word, 'slut,' causes such rancor to a level like this? Pleeeaasseee!

Rush got caught in their trap by carrying on about this for 3 days on his show. He spent 2 days fending off the media attacks and not backing down.

We say there are bigger things than Rush Limbaugh's use of the word slut to be worried about. They are telling us in their world, no there is not. The biggest thing they are worried about is Conservative Free Speech.

They know stratigically they have to bring the First Amendment down.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is a list of what Congress cannot do.

While we all realize the fight with the Catholic Church and the healthcare mandate is a direct infringment...

Can Congress mandate money to groups to abridge the freedom of speech? Media Matters

Can Congress mandate money to groups to create their own press? PBS and NPR

Can Congress mandate laws regarding assembly? In case you didn't catch the information they just passed a very concerning law regarding this very issue.

This firestorm is about destroying our Rights. There is no 'court of public opinion,' when propaganda and robo-emails are mobilized against any public figure.

Ok, this is humble and meek as all get out. I stand corrected from the perspective that Rush has apologized (I heard it live on air) for the words he used. Me, not so much. We, conservatives have, as a group, taken at least that much and worse from the left and received no so much as a whisper of an apology from them. I don’t fault Rush for what he said and I still believe that his words were appropriate, ESPECIALLY with the aditional background information that he provide as part of his apology. IMO, someone got to him over the weekend, someone other than just the sponsors who pulled out, and coerced him to offer his apology. My suspicion is that it would be ClearChannel. Otherwise, why else would they need to issue a statement that they are standing behind him?

HOWEVER, I am deply disappointed and dismayed that he apologized. By so doing, Rush has set conservatism on its rear. I believe that, because of who he is, the left will use this single issue to grind conservatism into dust. I fully expect them to not only re-introduce the “Fairness” Doctrine, but obtain rapid passage of it. I also expect that the left will use Rush’s comments and his apology as an acknowledgement that talk radio is a vehicle for “hate speech” so that they can finally drive talk radio off the air.

As I type, the left is high-fiving themselves nd popping champagne bottles. We, on the other hand, are screwed!

So, I thank you for correcting me about Rush’s use of words that he acknowledges were wrong and for your gracious attitude about it.

I’m going to go sulk, now!

“I’m going to go sulk, now!”

This too shall pass. :)
No one has answered my question from another comment. What is the male equivalent of a “slut?”

Well, I was going to say that it's a gigolo (which actually sounds nicer than any of the female terms), but a gigolo tends to be more of a male whore, IMO.

I guess that the true male equivalent of a slut is a . . . . . . normal guy!! Guys are pretty much pigs and, truth to be told, we think more from our southern head than from the larger northern one! :-)
