Romney would get crushed. He’s establishment as it gets, and was their pick in 2008. His “business” was about moving around money. He’s shown no record of getting independent votes in the open primaries. He didn’t get them against McCain, nor against Santorum.

The polls are not saying that. I’m not enthusiastic about Romney’s record either but the fact is that he’s doing rather well in matchups against the Usurper.
