DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for killing a Chinese woman in the northwestern city of Peshawar.
Taliban spokesman Mohammad Afridi said on Thursday the woman was targeted to avenge what he said were atrocities carried out by Chinese security forces in the heavily Muslim northwestern region of Xinjiang.

“Why can there be such a thing as a Taliban spokesman, and why is he not shot in the head the very second he claims to be one?”
For the same reasons the Somali pirates have a spokesman.
We live in a very F*kd up world.
A thousand years from now, someone will ask the very same question as you.
the Chinese have demonstrated they are pefectly willing to sacrifice the “innocent” to kill the guilty.
In other words, they blow the shit out of everyone. They don’t give a flying f**k about PC, or Western “sensibilities.”
Over the long term, the Chinese are in trouble. Their "one-child" policy is going to leave them with a dangerously aging population. They could use an outlet for their excess males. In ancient times, the solution was to invade another country, kill the enemy's men, and take their women as sex slaves.
Good points.
The Chinese ARE in trouble, as you stated. The question is, who will they invade? Pakistan? Vietnam? Taiwan? At this point, who can tell? And if they set their sights on a US ally, will our then-President have the courage to confront them?
I think the real question is, "Would it be worth it for us to confront them?"
Vietnam and back-stabbing, duplicitous Pakistan? China can have them.
Taiwan? Japan? No way.
If Russia gets into a cash crunch, the Chinese could offer to use their cash reserves to buy the resource-rich areas of Siberia.
They are less likely to invade India, a country with their own nukes. They might do something with Pakistan's northern tribal regions. They would most like to do something with Taiwan.
Japan definitely. Taiwan? I’m not confident we’d go to war to save them, unfortunately.
[…] back-stabbing, duplicitous Pakistan? China can have them.Hmmm, now there is an idea—a little “Cultural Revolution” might be exactly what they need over there…
China lost to Vietnam within 28 days, at least the US held out in Vietnam for decades. The Chinese are not known for their fighting skills, but they are smart enough to know not to walk into the Afghanistan mine field.
So which one is the enemy (or friend) here? China or Taliban?
