oooooh, heart pang!
I label it prophetic because of the interview of Breitbart and Carlson about their dinner with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn that aired yesterday. He made the point that they were extremely smart and talented people skilled at the soft sell of leftist/Marxist revolution. He was a bit unnerved at how persuasive and potentially these people are. He said that he could see either one of them stepping right into the role of Barack Obama.
It also should be noted that he said their surroundings were the extravagant trappings of the ultra 1% - 180degree view from the penthouse decorated with million dollar paintings and scultures. These are the elitists who would hop[e to rule over the rubes who wear the patch of OWS.
Andrew Breitbart was a true American Patriot- May we honor his memory with our diligence and dedication to life, liberty and the American way.
Andrew from 2001 on retaking the universities:"I was an "American Studies" major in college and graduated in 1991. I never really understood what hit me quite frankly, but the last 10 years have been an intense unlearning of what in retrospect was clear Marxist indoctrination. The head of the department was so smart. Such a hipster, too. And she played up the roloe of understanding older sister versus the domineering mother or father figure. All of the European names from above: Adorno, Marcuse, Fromm, Lukacs, etc. were part of my curriculum. And "deconstruction" was the name of the game. And to be honest with you, I think I was saved because I plum didn't understand it -- at all.
By the end of my Junior year, I was confused and just wanted to graduate. At a friends graduation from Stanford, his religious studies department graduation was held with the 'American Studies' Dept. I half jokingly asked one of the Am studies grads: "So what exactly is 'American Studies'?"
His response was just as confusing as my own interpretation of what it was.
In retrospect it was clearly subversive anti-Americanism built up with a name that was probably meant to draw in young, impressionable dupes like me.
Part of me is angry at myself that I was not up for the challenge to take on the drivel at the time, bt I was not as armed as I am today. And part of me wants to give back the degree which cost my parents a pretty penny.
But my resolution is keeping up with a true education on what it is to be truly American. And to study America is not to add up slavery with the Japanese internment and multiply it by Jim Crow.
I do think my obligation is to tell people, anyone who will listen, that getting back the universities is as important as getting back the media. I think that David Horowitz is clearly the most knowledgable leader on this front, but there needs to be a Bernard Goldberg and a Tammy Bruce from within the Ivy Walls with a liberal pedigree who helps to break down the dam.
And tying the academia to the media as the main culprits in the degradation of American values and standards could be legitimate goals in the Culture War in the coming years.
The current period in which we live (heightened patriotism) has put THEM on the defensive. We have control and should not shrink from the responsibility. It is time to go on the offensive and the publishing this piece in a college publication is a nice start.

Final note: I stress that this fight is more important than many people realize because of my own experience in the trenches. Two years ago, I accepted the challenge to run for local office of county commissioner. I live in a liberal county and the only newspaper did a multi page hit piece on me by distorting one line excerpts from postings here on Free Republic. The editor even wrote a special column in which he said that the fact that I "would find comfort in participating in a website like this disqualified me from holding public office."
This folks, is what we're up against and it is growing faster than I think most of you realize because it is so easy to snare a half interested person with smooth sounding rhetoric.

Thank you for posting this, Kristinn. Such a loss for all of us. My prayers are with his family.
I remember... Thanks for all these memories and the great research, kristinn.
I like the thought of a *November Surprise* for Hussein.
Godspeed Mr. Breitbart. Thank you. Your work will be done.
No—that’s not her. She was always with MsAntiFeminazi.
She’s a cute little gal with a bubbly giggle......it’s driving me crazy that I can’t think of her freeper name.
Wow what a response.
You’re Good! “Lies are Monster Food”
Is the doctor IN?
Might need an appointment. Thanks for that great analytical interpretation.
Thanks for posting this kristinn.
Nam Vet
Thanks Kristin. I hadn’t realized this. May he rest in peace.
Thanks for posting!
Basil, thank you—it is always a pleasure to “see” you here.
Thanks for the thread. I never met him, either in person or online, and he was one of those people who I thought “I’d like to meet him someday.” Better sometime than never. I hope his funeral is well attended by the best and brightest of the conservative world, and maybe one or all of the GOP presidential candidates could attend.
That's awesome! So glad you got to meet and speak with Andrew at CPAC.
Breitbart keeper for late time reading

They should probably release the tapes NOW if they don’t want to end up dead.

RIP Andrew.
