—I dont understand how a 42 year old can die of natural causes. This is horrible.—
He can’t. The term is not used any more as a cause of death. That is one reason this smacks of hoax.

Not officially (as on a death certificate), but in the early going after a death it is a useful way of distinguishing between e.g. homicide, suicide, accident, or “natural causes” (e.g. massive stroke).
If true, keep in mind that Mr. Breitbart’s friends and family have a LOT to do besides apprising his conservative fans of every last detail of what happened to him. I’m sure the details of his death will come out in due time.
RIP, Andrew Breitbart.
It is probably TRUE!
I went to Breitbart’s actual site and this is what I got, a statement from his wife.

Actually, it's a perfectly reasonable term, not for the official cause of death from a coroner, but for a news story in order to distinguish it from some kind of accident or foul play. It's just a general description like "died in a boating accident" or "was killed by a mugger". Those aren't an official COD either. It just means that it was something organic and medical. Like a heart attack or aneurysm or such.
If he was not under a doctor's care it will be a while before the cause of death is know.
Great loss...especially to his family. May God bless them and give Andrew eternal rest.
