Travelers can buy insurance that will get you out of hot situations like this. The insurer will send in a private commando unit to get you out of the country. I don’t know if that was the case in this incident, but I suspect that the news organization does carry insurance for this purpose.
The premium payment annually for an individual is about $400 per year. You can buy this coverage for individual trips or to cover traveling for a year.
When the Marines can’t get you out of a bad situation, call an insurance company.
I’ll keep that in mind.
Doesn’t seem it would do much good if you’re travelling to a war-torn country that isn’t allowing people to enter?
