I dont think the rifles even *had* safeties.I own some older rifles....and shotguns from the 40's to the 60's...they ALL have safeties.

Huh.
Imagine that.
I grew up riding in dad’s truck with a rack full of rifles behind my head.
Best as I can recall, I never got killed.
Just lucky, I reckon.
The only gun *I* personally own with a safety on it is a Beretta 9mm.

So...I just freaked out hubby by going out and ‘checking everything’.
Two rifles and one pistol, no “safety” unless you consider “half cocked” a “safety”.
Everything else has them.
