DETROIT (WJBK) -- "These babies have been accosted and victimized on our watch, so as men it's demanded upon us to stand up," said Raphael Johnson, president of Detroit 300.
An impassioned plea from the men of the Detroit 300 imploring the men of Detroit to take action in the wake of so many children being murdered.
"Where are the uncles, the cousins, the fathers, the brothers of these victims, these babies? Where are you at and what are you doing? Why [are] you not out marching in the street?" Johnson said. "If it applies to you, you need to get off the couch. If it applies to you, you need to put that weed down and stop being so high. If it applies to you, you need to put the beer down, the liquor and the alcohol, and take your rightful place in our community."
This as the family of nine-month-old Delric Miller works on his obituary and designs t-shirts to remember the little boy killed as he slept at his home on Greenview on Detroit's west side Monday morning. Before dawn, a gunman opened fire. Nearly 40 bullets pierced the walls. One of them hit little Delric.
"I wanted to do something to help the family in this hard time right now," said Clayton Carter with Can You Picture This?
So, he is selling t-shirts to help pay for the funeral. Everyone wants to help.
Detroit Police are working with state and federal agencies to catch the killer, some coward from some gang, the very people the men of the Detroit 300 say they're coming after.
"We don't need a search warrant. We don't need any probable cause. All we need is for you to commit a felony and we [are] coming to get you period," said Johnson.
The beauty of the Detroit 300, they say, is that they understand the code on the streets. They understand that people don't want to snitch to police, but they want people to talk to them. There's a hotline. It's 313-826-8662.
The Detroit 300 also says they're going to be deploying hundreds of men to area hot spots once a week and they're coming after the folks who are on the wrong side of the law.

CORRECTION: It happened in Detroit on the east side (as though it makes a whole lot of difference).
And as an update, two bodies were found in an alley this morning on Detroit's southwest side. Evidently they had been murdered then set on fire...........
Detroit is considered “the Most Liberal City In America!”. Gary, In is the 2nd most liberal city in America.

Murder rates in Detroit were higher back in the ‘70’s but today we see infants, toddlers and young girls being killed in the crossfire. WTF!
I hope they were the right kind. I’ve said for awhile that some day it will be real hazardous to wear gang colors - and not because of rival gangs.

You know, that's what they say but I don't believe it. My parents lived on Detroit's east side and my dad was an executive lieutenant at the 13th precinct down by Wayne state. Most of the fringe neighborhoods were still predominately white and the neighborhoods were still in relative good shape. Most of the crime was occuring in the projects such as Brewster.
Almost every morning now we're hearing of an overnight murder or arson.
And here's another update, the news just reported that a 6 year old boy was killed when the car he and his father were driving in was riddled with bullets last night. This was on the east side in the Warren and Knottingham area......just a couple blocks from where I lived in the 70's...

The Detroit 300 have publicly called upon the perpetrator(s) to turn themselves in, whereupon the armed citizen’s group will personally escort them to authorities for their own safety.
Against whom?
Detroit is a zoo with nothing more than animals. What would you expect? Humans?

When they start kicking the sh*t out of the dope dealers and pimp with baseball bats, I’ll start caring.
Underlying the cultural problem is a government problem. As long as government subsidizes single moms, then we will continue to have the pathologies that single motherhood creates.
Stop welfare entirely. When girls HAVE NO CHOICE but to defer motherhood until they are married to a responsible man who will marry and support them, then they will stop spreading their legs so readily for any gang bangers that stumbles by. When guys without legitimate jobs are no longer able to get laid, then they will get jobs, and study in school so that they become qualified for legitimate jobs. And ONLY then.
I for one will not knock these men...it takes guts to stand up to thugs and the criminal element....let’s hope they live up to there namesake “300” and not die like the spartans did against overwheming odds
