Any state Republican Party that still allows Democrats and phony “Independents” to vote in its primary should have its credentials yanked and not be allowed to have any delegates at the national convention. South Carolina Democrats elected McCain in the ‘08 primary, knowing that he was a weak candidate and would lose to their nominee in the presidential election.

How long will the national Republican Party remain clueless?

“How long will the national Republican Party remain clueless?”

Is that a rhetorical question? LOL

The GOP to protect the nominating process gots to come up with a system to not just prevent democrats from voting in GOP primaries but also prevent democrats from registering as Republicans.

There should be some kind of test to see who really is and who is not a true conservative Republican. Maybe a written tests or making them pay dues.

This misinformation is getting rather annoying. And you would think someone from the Livingston Daily would know this.

So exactly how do you close a primary? Take them in a room, put a gun to their head while they vote?

MI does not have an open primary contrary to poor journalism and the rats stirring their union pot, rules were changed this year.

Some may not know this, obviously including people on this board that should - in fact there are recent articles pointing out that when rats showed up to get their absentee ballots and had to request GOP ballots many just passed them up. These would be the troublemakers.

In Michigan:

You must be registered with the SOS 30 days out. No same day registration nonsense.

You must then show a picture ID to cast this vote.

Then you must request a ‘partisan’ GOP ballot at the polling which becomes a public record as it is numbered with your name attached to that ballot and that information is then available to outside groups through the SOS and is in fact public info.

IOW there really is no such thing as an absolute ‘closed primary’ as this is still America and you can still vote for the candidate of choice - am not worried about mischief so much like in other years.

Said another way if the Michigan 2010 elections were any indication the rats voted GOP in droves as they had deep discontent with Granholm, Obama, Dingy, Pelosi, Stupak, etc. and in addition to the slaughter at the state level we also picked up two congressional seats, and this was an *open* election.

Whatever crossover voting will likely be intended to be against democrats particularly this fall, people have had it with rats here. And if democrats have had enough with their party and want to hand more power to the GOP at their own peril who are we to stop them?

Did you know that not a single democrat at the MI state level was elect higher than county? Not one.

I 150% agree with, there is no way this is right for those of us who play by the rules. All states should have a CLOSED PRIMARY, period. I am so disgusted with this fraudulent process.

So, what criteria would you propose to qualify an individual to vote in a primary election?
