Mitt Romney spoke to several empty seats Friday in Detroit, in a speech that offered Democrats more fodder for their attacks and failed to deliver the major economic address his campaign promised.
Television cameras showed rows of empty chairs as Romney rehashed many of the policies and quips hed used in previous speeches, made a few jokes that appeared to fall flat with the audience and said that his wife, Ann, drives a couple of Cadillacs, which will likely give Democrats more ammunition for their depiction of him as rich and out of touch.
The former Massachusetts governor also repeated a line that has been the butt of jokes by late-night comedians that Michigan has good-sized trees.
This feels good, being back in Michigan, he said. The trees are the right height. The streets are just right.
Romney then listed the various cars he and his wife own.
I drive a Mustang and Chevy pickup truck, he said. Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs, actually. I used to have a Dodge truck, so I used to have all three [Detroit manufacturers] covered.

The dog sits in the back seat and cr*ps all over the place.
I don't see any other choices,
Maybe freepers can find a picture of the EMPTY stadium he needed (and paid for) because no other would be large enough to hold his “handful of supporters”?
Hint: BO has set the amount to pay thugs at sixty dollars, Willard.
He’s not apologizing for his money - no one asked him to!! I want him to apologize for saying he’s a conservative and wasting our time and his attacks on Newt. Then he’s dismissed and can go climb a perfect tree.
Who gives a flip how much money he has - it can’t buy him what Newt has - Brilliance!
And, yes, the dem party will use this against him.
“Medicare Fraud multi-millionaire Mitt Romney loves to flash his cash” is how the ad by the DNC will lead in.
And the UAW won’t care.
Add to your list - I like to fire people and not worried about the poor.
I hate Romney. But the attacks on him owning a couple of Caddys is ridiculous.
Meanwhile Obama appeared at the mega mansions of three leftwing billionaires for fundraisers with plates going for 40 grand per pop. Moochelle was skiing with the downtrodden in Aspen.
Please!... with the class warfare crap. That’s for the left.
The guy is tone deaf. But the idea that he’s out of touch for owning several cars is ridiculous. I own 5, two for my teen daughters to use. And I’m about as middle class as you can get.
I understand the analogy, I just disagree. You see a douche that is successful, it drives you to be even more successful. If you don’t understand my argument that pro capitalist using capitalism as ammunition against someone is the very definition of an oxymoron, then I am both confused and disappointed.
“Capitalism good...ahh shit, you’re successful? Can’t have you representing capitalism... “
Seriously, that is a sound argument to you? There is a plethora of reasons to not like Romney, talking success is IMHO not one of them.
PERFECT!
Okay, I'll play...
All one has to do is pick the day and the direction of the wind and Romney could be anything that anyone dislikes!
These things WILL be used against him.
“Mitt, YOU have the right to remain silent. Anything you say CAN AND WILL be used AGAINST you” IN OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN!
He is a total, mincy-stepping DWEEB!
Your picture totally addresses the crux of my argument- capitalist using capitalism against a capitalist.
Give it up!! No one attacked him for making money!! You are TOO media driven.
Dole and Mccain were train wrecks, too. The Establishment wants a Republican Train Wreck.
Bastards.
You’re not against him making money, only talking about making money? You can’t see but *disbelieving face*.

UAW isn't as tone deaf as you imagine.
