Well said, Santorum -- well said. At a campaign stop in Michigan on Saturday morning:
Santorum On Obama 'What A Snob'
"Not all folks are gifted in the same way. Some people have incredible gifts with their hands... and want to work out there making things. President Obama once said, he wants everybody in America to go to college. What a snob. There are good decent men and women, who go out everyday to put their skills to test that aren't taught by some liberal college professor trying to indoctrinate them. Oh, I understand why he wants you to go to college -- he wants to remake you in his image. I want to create jobs so people can remake their children into their image, not his."
“Have major corporations and even industries create a curriculum for their employees. It is simplicity itself.”
I like this but I want them to know American history and the Constitution as well!
I watched this speech streaming on CNN - it was very good. Loved the “what a snob” comment.
Pushing is just that, they push these idiots through high school and then to send thru college now, maybe he just wants to send them a college degree in the mail with thier welfare check, or food stamp card.
Chilling stories from ZooMass.
You’ve nailed the underlying, major, and fatal problem with educational affirmative action. Government regs, social engineering, and liberal guilt can get AA students into an Ivy League (or any college), but it can’t KEEP them there ... unless they’re Teh One, of course.
And of course, the resulting blow to the artificially inflated self-esteem is doubly harsh because they couldn’t cut it in a school they wouldn’t have qualified for in the first place.
(Of course, this does not apply to those students who study, attend class, and take their education seriously.)
Actually, UMass didn’t drop into the toilet until the late 60s. In 1963, UMass retired undefeated (one of only ten schools to do so) on the TV show GE College Bowl, defeating U. of Arizona 360 to 35. Up to that time it was a very good state U. about to become a top one. But alas, the 60s and 70s brought-in fecal faculty, communists, screeching feminists, violent ‘oppressed people of color,’ and graduates staying on to be come tenured radicals. Today Arts and Sciences and Humanities are a national joke, but the schools of chemistry and engineering remain world class. You just have to be careful not to walk onto the wrong part of the campus.
You are absolutely right.

They always seem to focus on Big Business issues 100% and just think that these voters will just follow along. At least Rick is addressing issues like manufacturing and traditional values that matter to these voters. From what I can see, his message is resonating opening up a whole new source of votes to the GOP.”
WOW!!! He bitch slapped Obozo on that one.
