Reminds me of a scene in a movie I saw as a kid - early sixties, I guess. A group of men are in a truck which breaks down in the Sahara, and they can only restore second gear. So they go grinding along and come to a pipeline which they know is near a city, but they don't know which way. One guy says "this way". An arab in their group disagrees, and asks him if he is willing to stake their lives on it. He replies, "Are you?" and the arab says "Yes, I am" so they go that way, which of course turns out to be right.
Can anybody ID this movie? It was more or less a B movie, I think, but it was in color and had decent production values. All I remember is this scene.
