Yes, under Carter interest rates were horrible for new car purchases, home purchases etc. They were GREAT for my grandparents and their CD’s though.

My CD's suck and have for ten years now. I've always lived my life out of debt (not even a mortgage - paid cash). The government has always worked against me.
