This really demonstrates a larger pattern in the nature of their support. They immediately attack the integrity of Newt Gingrich in order to support their candidate whenever any discussion comes up about actual policy. “Newt sat with Pelosi” etc, even though Saint Rick sat with Barbra Boxer on actual legislation.

They don’t tackle actual issues in any great depth. But they are quite marvelous at making the debate about Newt’s character or, in this case, the character of his supporters.

I don't like seeing our candidates fighting amongst themselves. Newt is the only candidate who has addressed that issue, for which I truly admire and respect him. He experienced a religious conversion. He's incredibly intelligent and thoughtful.

I believe that the more voters learn about him, and get to know him, the more they will yearn to have the opportunity to vote for him.

Newt has said that was a big mistake. He's admitted other mistakes he's made and that's what integrity is about...self-honesty. To me that is a man who has a conscience and learns. At least him and even Santorum will admit when they are wrong. Romney parses his excuses for Romneycare and other positions. He is the typical politician who will say anything, anytime, to anyone, to further his political ambitions. Like clinton and bambi, he has few core beliefs.

The HUGE difference between Newt and bambi is that bambi will always blame others due to his narcissistic tendencies. Newt doesn't. He has taken responsibility for his past. That is a man of honor. He doesn't make excuses nor blame others for his failings.

Unfortunately, in this age of "cult of personality", I believe Newt nor Santorum will get the nomination. Romney will be the GOP nominee simply because he "looks" good and talks the talk, which the current American Idol populace believe. It will then be up to Congress to keep Mittens in check if he wins the presidency. Another fight for another day...
