Hey you are from Houston. Did you know Mean Gene Kelton, southern blues, biker guitar guy? He was my distant cousin.
Baytown, Crosby, Dayton....pretty cool place. A lot of my friends moved there but most have passed now.
Gene passed in a head on with a school bus a little over a year ago. He was on the way to a New Years gig when someone stopped in front of him and he swerved into the bus. Was driving an Explorer. One vehicle I won’t buy. Superstitious and I love my Durango.
Never actually knew him, but I seen him play in Baytown. and
met him once a long time ago at Airline Vintage Guitars.
He was checking out a Telle and Dan the owner of AVG told me
who he was. I heard that he had died but I didn’t know how.
