This could never happen in America. Members of Congress are immune from arrest while Congress is in session.

Recall the old saying, “ Drunker than a Lord”. Old sailors know about these things.

Personally, I wish the occasional donnybrook would break out in Congress. It would give me more respect for them.

invited to visit Strangers, one of several drinking establishments - sounds like an establishment that would cater to fancy lads...

It was like the Wild-West m - don't drag us into this, it sounds like typical English soccer hooliganism to me

That would explain how Great Britain was sold out to socialism by its Governing class.

Too stupid drunk to know what they were doing and too selfish to care.

Churchill would be appalled at their loutishness. He used water for painting and liquor for libation.

I am tired of holier-than-thou nags attempting to remove alcohol from every public place. Many members of this forum suffer from this form on nagging progressivism. I would like to point out that Prohibition was a progressive experiment that ended in disaster. It made criminals out of ordinary people and helped entrench organized crime. During the American Revolution everybody drank like a fish. They probably were drinking when they wrote the Declaration of Independence, the constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

I suspect that alcohol is the secret sauce that rational, reserved, freedom-loving, mind-my-own-busines need in order argue and fight for liberty. Liberals don't need alcohal because they are already emotional with poor impulse control 24-7-365.

My advice, go to a pub, have a couple of beers, and then argue with a liberal!
