Thank you!!!! I like Newt, but Santorum IS a conservative and a good man.

I don’t understand why everyone is attacking him, he’s on OUR side guys.

Because not everyone believes conviction is important. It’s really that simple.

Rick just sunk himself. Politics is team sport so leave your convictions at the door.

Newt's a conservative AND a good man, too.

Santo has hurt himself, tonight, with his inferior debating skills.

Because it is easy to do that and hide behind a computer.

Sometimes, peoples personalities change when on the keyboard.

Also, easier to tear down a guy rather than say something positive about the one you DO support.

I think our common ground here is: a) we do not support Romney, and b) we want Obama as a one term president.

Totally agree and said it earlier on the thread...
SO high school on our side...
(but I’m loving this debate....but they need a beer in hand and need to tune out the dope “running the show”...)

Santorum progressive tax plan with 2 rates, 10% and 28% shows a lack of presenting a conservative solution.

Have you followed any of the Santorum threads lately? They are no different. It’s getting really old.

Some of us "attack" Santorum because of his record.

He just brought up his "homeschooling" again and "local control" but his actual record reflects he took $72,000 from a local Pennsylvania school district to "homeschool" five of his kids while he and his family were living in D.C. While ruled legal, it's something that helped defeat him in 2006. Things like this leave a bitter taste, particular in a candidate who holds himself up as Mr. Clean.

He voted to confirm Clinton nominee Sonya Sotomayer to the 2nd Circuit while knowing she'd be fast tracked to the Supreme Court which is precisely where Obama put her.

Then there's introducing and voting for an added half-billion in funding, on top of $900 billion, for Amtrak's budget. There's a whole host of things that put a big question mark on Santorum's actual conservative credentials beyond certain social issues.

Santorum is not ready for prime time. Maybe maybe VP.

Santorum isn’t ready for primetime, but because he refuses to see it (along with many of his supporters), he has split the conservative vote, effectively cutting Newt off at the knees. And Newt is our only hope against Zero. That’s why I’m pissed at Santorum. We could very well end up with Mitt now, much like we ended up with McCain because Huckabee wouldn’t step down.
