He said it’s birth control, the same as other birth control.

I’m so confused - I’ve read for years, since its start in France years ago (wasn’t it called RU486?) that the morning after pill is an abortion pill. Then lately, I read to the contrary.

Which is it - is (God forbid) RuPaul right?

It prevents a fertilised egg from implanting. If you want to call that birth control instead of abortion, you will find few people to agree with you.
