I haven’t forgotten the Nixon pardon, nor any of the sordid mess he left behind. Lived through it. Been watching politics for many decades, now older than the proverbial dirt.
Ford had enough on his plate without Reagan’s destructive run.
It would have been lovely had Reagan waited his turn and we could have skipped Jimmy Earl altogether. I always thought that Reagan got antsy because of his age, which was, indeed, a consideration.
