I agree with you and the F-22. I have always wanted the F-22 to be used.
The point is the F-22 can’t do what the F-35 can. The F-35 can carry out a legitimate air-to-ground mission in stealth mode with heavy ordinance and once stealth mode is not as critical, has the capability to be used more conventionally.
This is not to say the program is without flaws, it is just to point out the capabilities are not interchangeable.
