Thank you for your reply. I will consider what you are saying though at this point I disagree with a few things. The more I watch Rick the more I wonder about his broad base appeal to independants. I know, I know, I am a conservative, but I also know Independants will elect the next president. I do not believe he needs to ease off social issues one bit, but I do believe he needs to use a different tone and different words to discrib his views. Yes, the mainline press is against him, now that is a surprise for sure. LOL. I will be on his side, but I still net to vet a little more. The problem is for me, everyone gets in such a wad when you ask questions.

The GOP had the same worries about Ronald Reagan in 1980. He pulled off a landslide because there was a stark difference between him and Jimmah Cahtah.
That is what the liberal media want you to think. That “independents” or “moderates” choose our president so we need to soften our ideology to attract these paragons of careful, studied political thinking.
BS.
I call these voters what they really are: apoliticals. Gd love em, they are the busy people focused on their work, their hobbies, raising kids, or even just focused on their tv shows or pot dispensaries. They don’t pay attention to politics except for the jokes on tv.
Democrats aren’t asked by the media to moderate their views. Heck, they just elected a communist sympathizer as president. But we always are asked to send a RINO to the nomination, which gets us candidate dole or McCain.
Somehow, even though apoliticals exist, when we send real conservatives up, they tend to win.
