The IDF is planning to deploy an Iron Dome battery in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area for the first time as part of a drill simulating a missile attack, Ynet learned Sunday. The Iron Dome system aims to provide protection from medium-range rockets used by Hamas and Hezbollah and is part of Israel's multi-layered defense layout which also includes the Arrow 2 and Magic Wand systems.
Residents of Central Israel will be able to get a closer look at the Iron Dome battery which has been found to be effective in intercepting rockets fired at southern communities. The aim is to calibrate the system in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area after previous deployments in Haifa and southern cities. The battery will be stationed in Central Israel for several days subject to permits currently being acquired by the Air Force.

When they start deploying these all around Israel, I think we can expect an attack on Iran to be soon forthcoming.
They are more worried by Hezbollah which has 50,000 rockets in its arsenal and the possible attacks from the PA
Anyways, Iron Dome is designed for the smaller rockets like the Katyusha rockets, artillery and Quassam.
Indeed, but I think that when they attack Iran, they will be assaulted on all fronts with rockets from neighbors. It’s going to get ugly. And I’m afraid that Zero will command our military to stand idle.
Hows that disengagement working for you? The Israeli government has an amazing way of turning tactical problems into major strategic issues. Back when IDF was in Gaza the Arabs could only shoot Kassams for 5 Miles at most. When the Israelis gave them their “freedom” and end the “occupation”,they can cover the whole country with GRAD’s. Same goes for Hizbollah. problem is Israelis never learn!
Right. I did not add that to my equation in my orginal statements. You are correct.
Don’t they have Patriot and other batteries for longer range Scuds and the like?
Patriots and the Arrow missile is for long and medium rande ballistic missiles.
Those are incorporated into the Iron Dome system
Thanks.
Still, with a defense contractor named for an Archangel (Raphael), that alone should give the enemies of Israel pause. ;-)))

They have different systems for short range, medium range and long range ballistic missiles.
Everything from mortars to warheads launched from Iran.
The big system for incoming ballistics is probably nuclear armed. It’s easier to take out an incoming missile with a nuclear blast than any other way.
If anyone sends over a chemical or biological missile then Israel will probably depend on a spread of neutron weapons to take out the areas that launched them...picture everything dead in large areas of south Lebanon. This would probably be the start of a world war.
” problem is Israelis never learn!”
What do you suggest the Israelis do to solve the problem? Drop all their weapons and embrace peace with Palestine, Iran, et. al.?
Yeah, that’s exactly how I’ve always pictured Zechariah 12:3-4 playing out.
In a related aside, I like the imagery of the longer range defense system they have called David’s Sling.
Sooner or later it has to happen as otherwise there will be no peace or at least silence for any length of time. One side has to win while the other loses. Pretty much the same way with liberals, democrats, socialists or by what ever other name they go by as they are not satisfied until everything is in shambles and unfortunately it usually takes a war for things to settle down. As far as a nuclear exchange is concerned it would not be the first one in that area as the last one went down in history as Sodom and Gomorrah The winds carry the radioactive cloud to Sumer. People die a terrible death , animals perish, the water is poisoned, the soil become barren. Sumer and it’s great civilization lie prostrate. Its legacy passes to Abraham’s son he begets-at age 100 - a legitimate heir: Isaac
