Don't remember where I read it, but it made a lot of sense to me that Rick and Newt made a pact of sorts that Rick would take the midwest and Newt would take the south, with 3 people in the race it would deprive Romney of his 50%. Then when things fall out, either Newt or Rick would withdraw and endorse the other to keep Mitt from the nomination.

Don’t take such speculation too seriously. There’s also talk of a Mitt/Rick deal behind the scenes, and a Ron Paul/Mitt deal.

We won’t really know for awhile, or, more likely, ever.

Just vote for the person you think is the best candidate.
