The Movie Reviews!
The first movie was "Take Shelter" with Michael Shannon, Katy Mixon, and Jessica Chastain, about the son of a woman who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia from her mid 30's. He begins to have odd dreams and visions in his mid 30's as well, much to the chagrin of his wife and young, deaf daughter, because he must compulsively act on them.
It was a very good story, well done, and we gave it four stars.
The second movie was "Ichi," which means "one" in Japanese. Starring Haruka Ayase, Shido Nakamura, Yôsuke Kubozuka, and Takao Ôsawa, it is set in feudal Japan, and involves a typically Asian story of evil thugs who oppress the townsfolk, and the Samurai who fight for them. Ichi is a blind woman with mad skills as a swordsman, and she is searching for "a man who has these same skills." Any more info would be a spoiler.
Hubby and I enjoy this kind of movie, and we gave it four stars for being an excellent example of the genre.

We’ve seen Take Shelter. He found it more to his liking than your First Darling. :)

"> Saw Take Shelter. 'Disturbing', unusual film.
