A second officer said Loxas was holding something that could be considered a weapon.
“There’s a lot of factors that go into the decision to shoot — certainly the presence of a weapon is one of the, or the perceived presence of a weapon,” said Clark.
A loaded pistol, shotgun and improvised explosive device were found inside the home, police said.
The device contained black powder and ball bearings and was safely diffused by police.

Don't get me wrong. There are many, many good people serving the communities as LEO’s,I've met many over the course of my life.Having said that, there are many more Barney Fifes out there as well who need to be reigned in before the citizenry is forced out of necessity to do so.
So you think it is OK for trained cops to kill an unarmed man holding a baby, if they discover later that he had firearms in his house.
Boot-lickers don’t care much for the 2nd Amendment. Only government agents should have guns, right?
I think you have a point although over all it appears this guy was trigger happy
If you think the guy has a gun and he is holding a baby the fear is he will point the gun at the baby ....then what? It gets a lot more complicated
It sounds like the cops didnt know he even had a baby in his arms however.
There are also a lot of suicides by cops going on and this might be one
