There are serious doubts that Israel has the solo capability to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities. American sanctions have put a foot on Iran’s economic lifelines and our military is literally on their shores. If shooting starts, Iran will have a causus belli if our planes or even drones violate their airspace. The problem is our blue water navy is now in the confines of the Persian Gulf. If Iran is in fact armed with a sophisticated Chinese made shore based anti ship missile system, ( Similar to a system designed to clear the Taiwan Strait of hostile naval forces during a conflict) then those ships , sailors, and Marines are in grave danger. They have already shown the capability to take over the encrypted guidance system of an advanced drone, land it and take it as a prize.
