The front of the GOP pack will be absent at the March 1 debate in Atlanta sponsored by CNN and the Georgia Republican Party, CBS News/National Journal has learned. The Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum campaigns said they have decided to skip the debate, throwing into question whether it will happen as planned. "With eight other states voting on March 6, we will be campaigning in other parts of the country and unable to schedule the CNN Georgia debate," Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. "We have participated in 20 debates, including eight from CNN." The 20 debates include one scheduled for Feb. 22 in Mesa, Ariz.

LOL!!!
WE WILL NOT MOVE ON. The South has yet to vote.
Tell Jim Robinson to move on.
We will NEVER GIVE UP.
Newt Gingrich won the majority of Conservative Counties in Florida. Mitt won the blue counties.
Newt will win TEXAS and the South.
Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum HATE GEORGIA.
They obviously think Georgia is the worse state in the country and are shoving dirt in the face of Georgians.
Santorum and Romney HATE the state of Georgia.
That’s more than apparent. A scheduled debate and they take back their acceptance of the invite?
If they can’t handle Newt in Georgia, how are they going to handle any foreign leaders. Bunch of girly boys.
Lesson learned. Both Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum HATE Georgia and HATE the SOUTH.
Didn't Newt say on TV multiple times that he cant beat Romney in a debate because Romney is dishonest? What does he think Obama is a boyscout?
ATTENTION NEWT : OBAMA IS DISHONEST! HE WILL LIE AND LIE! This is not checkers. Good thing he let us know this now before it's too late !
Only in the tin foil hat wearing crowd.
How about the next debate were all the plants in the audience had to sit down and shut up, very much like a General election debate. Newt bombed. You Newt people only have his debating to point to in winning the WH. Bush was a terrible debater and won, twice. Debates matter little to a solid ground game. Considering Newt doesn't have any, where is that going to put him in the General match up?
It is a lovely zoo. I enjoy it every time I watch an episode of Threes Company. BTW, I wasn't aware that CA had a Primary contest in the next couple weeks crucial to staying alive in this election.
Seems to be a lot of folks here at FR that are capable of figuring it out. It would be a terrible strategic move for any one candidate to be the only one to drop out of the debate and there was obviously some agreement between them.
Of course, it was a good move for two candidates who have no real solutions to offer to dodge a debate with someone who does.
BTW, the foil hat thing is so lame, especially on a grown man.
Fox News just reported that it was Romney and Paul who decided to skip the debate.
LOL! Great pic.
It will be. It was unwatchable last night, too. For some reason, we turned on the O'Reilly Factor. I swear almost every segment was about Romney. First up was that fat toad, Dick Morris, crying about his boy Mitt no longer being the front runner but predicting he will be the nominee. The toad needs to go ahead and just marry Willard.
See post #191. It appears that two candidates did decide collectively to bail on this debate. Mittens and PAUL. While you folks go around slamming Rick as some sort of plant, maybe you should stay current on who the two best buds are in the race. Paul and Milt. Apparently their wives even dine together. In a brokered convention, who would be the one guy that could throw Milt over the top by offering say....Rand Paul the VP slot to quite Libertarians and Conservatives?
Your irrational, deep seeded hatred of Rick blinds you from the actual dynamics of this race. That puts you squarely in the Tin Foil Hat crowd.
I believe that endorsement has been revised a bit recently.

No the idea is Gingrich is going to win Georgia so why bother? Santorum and Romney will be doing more useful things than letting the media play “gotcha” with the candidate. Now it won’t get to ask Santorum about birth control.
We have seen too many debates as it is.
I don’t have a deep seated hate of Rick. I just think he has not told us what he intends to do as President, and that makes him a very non substantive candidate.
Newt probably went to the Zoo trying to gain better understanding of the average GOP-E voter. ;-)
I think you’re right. Seems kind of risky for these two least conservative candidates, though.
