I had a blast last night. I took one of the “Santorum voted for/against” copy/paste posts and followed the links. I then reposted with comments on what else was on the bills. It made me like Santorum more, not less.

Examples:
Against 1000 more Border Patrol Agents. Reason: was supporting an amendment to raise their pay to a level more suitable to the risk and hire a smaller number of agents.

Another against raising BP agents and placing them in certain places. He supported another amendment that would have determined where they were placed more scientifically instead of depending on politicians to decide.

(One of these alternatives, McCain offered and then yanked after he got his party to vote them down. Added more ammunition on McCain’s behavior as well.)

Against welfare reform would have doubled SCHIP for two years.

It went on and on. It is one of the reasons Senators who actually participate in the process have a tough time in presidential politics.
