Mark Simone is filling in. I personally like Simone. I see comments on Levin thread that many of them do not like Simone. He almost always has Ann Coulter as a guest.

Simone fills in for Imus. But Imus is such an ego puke that about all Simone has time to do is play recordings of Imus babbling.

When I tuned in Groucho today Simone was talking about how he eats garlic to counter the onset of a cold or similar ailment.

I was glad to hear confirmation because I use an extra tablet or two of my daily Nature Made brand garlic supplement for the same purpose and it works great! -- now that I've talked about it it probably will no longer work. I avoid pills and have for decades.

JOKE coming. Simone just told a great joke about Obama, et al. blaming Bush over and over. That's like a comedian saying the act before him was so bad that the audience was till booing halfway into his act.

This gets the "ick" response from a lot of people, but I eat at least a clove of live garlic every day. I'm a liveaboard sailor and I was somewhere in the Dominican when I got deathly ill and developed skin eruptions; I still have no idea what I had. Cured myself with brandy and garlic. On another occaison I had a badly infected tooth that was extremely painful; took large doses of live garlic and it began getting better immediately. After that I decided I was going to keep a maintenance dose of garlic in my body for the long haul and just be preventative.

I read somewhere that in order for it to be maximally effective, it has to be live and crushed...so, end of the day, I brush my teeth FIRST then chew up a clove of garlic, and yes it does burn...but it stopped my gums from receding and I've had no further dental issues in five years.

Before someone brings it up, if I have evening company I SKIP the garlic...but those interruptions are all too few.
