I did two ships on the east coast, two in Japan before ending up in Little Creek for shore duty. I moved up to Newport for my last tour before retiring.
WOW! How does a twenty year man (you said you're retired) manage to get so few duty stations? Four ships and shore duty and that's it?! That sure was one long shore duty tour in Little Creek.

How about serving in the Merchant Marine for 30+ years, huh, LOL, plus four years on Greenland, one year 400 miles from the North Pole!!!

Three shore tours - two and a half years at graduate school, three years at Little Creek and two years in Newport.
Toss in 18 months of Navy schools - 6 months division school and 6 months of department head school plus specialty schools and it was a full career.
